Amalga zoning code

7.2.1 Purpose, Scope, and Objectives

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Amalga code is at https://www.amalgautah.gov/amalga-town-code. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Amalga planning before you rely on it.
The Residential – Agriculture zone, also known as the RA – zone, is created to provide for Amalga Town’s growth and housing needs. It is designed to guide development toward areas of town already consistently populated, thereby preserving farmland and open space. It should encourage building on currently existing roads, thereby reducing infrastructure expenses. Another purpose of the RA – Zone is to conserve lesser tracts of farmland while still permitting roadside development. Unless listed in this chapter, a use is not allowed in the RA-Zone. The depth of the Residential-Agricultural Zone shall be 290.4 feet measured from the conter of the right-of-way. [Adopted January 11, 2012]
