Bear River City zoning code

8D.4.3 Accessibility to Public Storm Sewers in Major Subdivisions

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Bear River City code is at https://www.bearrivercityutah.gov/city-ordinances/. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Partial copy: chapters 1, 2, 3, 7 (the zone districts) and 10 are scanned images on the city's site and are not included. Use the official code for those. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Bear River City planning before you rely on it.
(a) Underground Storm sewer systems shall be constructed throughout major subdivisions and be conducted to an approved out-fall. Inspection of facilities shall be conducted by the City Engineer and Appropriate City Official. (b) If a connection to a public storm sewer will be provided eventually, as determined by the City Engineer, Appropriate City Official and the Planning Commission, the developer shall make arrangements for future storm water disposal by a public utility system at the time the plat receives final approval. Provision for such connection shall be incorporated by inclusion in the performance guarantee required for the subdivision plat. 8D.4.4 Accommodation of Upstream Drainage Areas A culvert or other drainage facility shall in each case be large enough to accommodate potential runoff from its entire upstream drainage area, whether inside or outside the subdivision. The developer shall hire a qualified engineer to determine the necessary size of the facility, based on the provisions of the construction standards and specifications assuming conditions of maximum potential watershed development permitted by this Code and the General or Master Plan. The City Engineer must review and approve the design.
