Cleveland zoning code

2-11.6 BUILDINGS

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Cleveland code is at http://www.clevelandtown.org/planning--zoning.htm. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Zoning ordinance only; the subdivision ordinance is a scanned image on the town's site and is not included. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Cleveland planning before you rely on it.
1) Fire Standpipes. Standpipes complying with IBC standards may be required for all commercial and multi-residential buildings, regardless of the number of stories if so designated by the Fire Department. 2) Fire Hydrants. Fire hydrants shall be installed in accordance with recommendations from the culinary water authority. 3) Provisions for Handicapped. Provisions for physically handicapped persons shall be provided in all new buildings as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 4) Construction Debris Removal. Any building construction on sites shall provide debris removal sufficient to facilitate the regular clean up and removal of construction debris from the site. Each site shall be cleaned and all construction debris removed on a weekly basis. Failure to comply with this ordinance, by allowing debris to accumulate on the premises, may result in the suspension of building permits, fines or such other appropriate penalties as the Town Council shall direct.
