Cleveland zoning code

2-3.13 SERVICE OF NOTICES

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Cleveland code is at http://www.clevelandtown.org/planning--zoning.htm. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Zoning ordinance only; the subdivision ordinance is a scanned image on the town's site and is not included. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Cleveland planning before you rely on it.
Whenever a notice is required to be given under the provisions of this Section the notice shall be served by at least one of the following methods. The method selected shall be the most direct option practical under the particular circumstances of the violation. 1) Service directly to the owner(s) or responsible person(s); or if not practical, 2) Service by first class mail, postage prepaid, to the last known address of the owner(s) or responsible person(s); or if not practical, 3) Service by posting the notice conspicuously on or in front of the property. The form of posted notice shall be as described in section 2-3.12 NOTICE OF VIOLATION above or if not practical, 4) Service by publication in a newspaper of general circulation in Cleveland Town. The failure of the owner(s) or responsible person(s) to actually receive any notice served in accordance with this Section shall not affect the validity of any proceedings taken under this Section.
