Garden City zoning code

11B-704 Appointment and Term of Office

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Garden City code is at https://www.gardencityutah.gov/code. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Garden City planning before you rely on it.
The appointment process shall consist of: A. The Town Council shall post a Public Notice requesting a call for applications from interested parties. B. Potential candidates shall submit to the Council a letter, which sets forth their desire and qualification to sit on the Board. C. The submission of names and letters to the Council will be at least 7 days prior to the Council Meeting date upon which the appointment is listed on the agenda. Potential members may be requested to attend and to be interviewed at this Council Meeting. Board Members shall be selected without respect to political affiliations and shall fairly represent the interest of all residents of Garden City. Board Members are not required to be residents of the Town of Garden City but living within accepted annexation boundaries. The term of office shall be two (2) years, four (4) years, or Special Assignment. Terms for Board Members shall be staggered and Board members may be appointed to a term less than the designated term when necessary to provide for staggered terms. Appointments shall be made at the beginning of the calendar year. There is no limit to the number of terms a member may serve.
