Garden City zoning code

11C-603 Sign Size, Height, Setbacks for Permanent and Temporary Signs

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Garden City code is at https://www.gardencityutah.gov/code. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Garden City planning before you rely on it.
A. Size requirements: 1. Each developed parcel shall not exceed two (2) square feet of sign area for each lineal foot of street frontage. The total square footage on a lot with two tenants must be divided between the tenants with proportions decided by the tenants and/or landlord(s). 2. Shopping centers and office building complexes which lease to three or more business on one lot record will allow individual businesses to have an addition one (1) square foot of sign area for each front footage of building occupancy for an attached sign. 3. Parcel without street frontage. Where a parcel does not have frontage on a public street, the allowable square footage of the sign shall be determined by the width of the parcel at the front setback line of the building applying for the sign. B. Setbacks. Signs and support members of all signs shall be setback two (2) feet and be entirely within the property. No sign shall project over a public right-of-way. C. Height.
