The accessory apartment may be created:
1. Inside the footprint of the home or attached garage through an internal conversion of the structure; or
2. By an addition to the house, containing a connection between the accessory apartment and the principal part of the dwelling unit.
Detached accessory apartments (not within the footprint of the primary dwelling unit) are not permitted.
