Kanab zoning code

23-5 Use with Underlying Zone

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Kanab code is at https://kanab.utah.gov/DocumentCenter/Index/96. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Use charts in chapters 16-20 do not copy cleanly. Check the official code for those charts. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Kanab planning before you rely on it.
The Planned Development Overlay shall overlay any of the Single-Family Residential Zones set forth in Chapter 15 of this Ordinance, subject to the requirements of this Chapter. A. Provisions Supplementary: The provisions of the Planned Development Overlay shall be supplementary to the provisions of the zone with which it is combined and shall not be applied to any land area as an independent overlay. B. Overlay Designation: The Planned Development Overlay designation shall be shown on the Official Zoning Map in parentheses as a suffix to the zone designation with which it is combined. For example, if the Planned Development Overlay is being combined with the Residential RR1 zone, it would be designated on the Official Zoning Map as “RR1 (PD).” Only one zone shall be designated for the entire development.
