New Harmony zoning code

19-2 Use Regulations

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official New Harmony code is at https://newharmonyutah.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/nh-land-use-ordinance-2-3-20.pdf. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with New Harmony planning before you rely on it.
In the Open Space Zone, no property shall be used and no building shall be erected or altered so as to be arranged, intended or designed to be used for other than one (1) or more of the following uses: 1) Livestock grazing; 2) Public or private recreation facilities which will not significantly alter the natural form of the landscape; 3) Emergency equipment routes to provide essential emergency services such as fire control; 4) Single family dwellings, provided that the applicant can demonstrate conclusively to the Planning Commission that any hazards and limitations of the site can be overcome in such a manner as to prevent hazard to life or limb, hazard t6 property, adverse effects on the safety, and use or stability of a public way or environment; and 5) Public utilities and transmission lines.
