Newton zoning code

11-4-6 Conditional Uses

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Newton code is at https://cms8.revize.com/revize/newtonut/TITLE%2011%20LAND%20USE.pdf. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Newton planning before you rely on it.
A. The purpose of the issuance of a conditional use permit is to allow the proper integration into the town of those uses which may be suitable in specific locations or if such uses are designed, arranged or conducted on the site in a particular manner. B. Conditional use permits may be approved by the planning commission as provided by this title and in section 10-9a-507 Utah Code Annotated, for any of the uses for which a conditional use permit is required as identified in chapter 11-6, "Schedule of Zoning Uses", of this title. The land use authority is also authorized to impose such other reasonable conditions as provided in section 11-4-7 of this chapter.
