Pleasant View zoning code

18.29.560 Electronic Message Centers

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Pleasant View code is at https://www.pleasantviewut.gov/213/Municipal-Code. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Pleasant View planning before you rely on it.
A. Electronic message centers require a Special Approval Permit from the Planning Commission in all zones. Such approval is purely at the discretion of the Commission based on the size and scale of the operations at the location, the location and its relationship to the surrounding uses, and the effect on the city's entryways. In addition to the restrictions found in this chapter and the other chapters which apply to the zones mentioned above, electronic message centers are subject to the following restrictions: 1. Electronic message centers are not allowed off-premise, except on billboards. 2. An electronic message center may not flash or scintillate, except to change the displayed wording to different wording. 3. Any display on the electronic message center must remain lighted for at least two seconds. 4. Any electronic message center may be required by the Planning Commission to limit or cease operations between the hours of ten p.m. and six a.m. (Ord.2009-6, dated 5/12/09) ARTICLE VI BILLBOARDS
