San Juan County zoning code

6-7 Appeals of Decision

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official San Juan County code is at https://sanjuancountyut.gov/207/Ordinances. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with San Juan County planning before you rely on it.
Any person aggrieved by a decision of the Planning Commission or the Zoning Administrator regarding the issuance, denial or revocation or amendment of a conditional use permit may appeal such decision to the Board of County Commissioners whose decision shall be final. All appeals to the Board of County Commissioners must be in writing and filed with such within thirty (30) days of the date of decision appealed from. The decision of the Board of County Commissioners may be appealed to the District Court provided such appeal is filed within thirty (30) days of the Commission decision. Such appeal shall be filed with the County Administrator’s office and the court clerk.
