Wayne County zoning code

Zoning 1603 Public Uses to Conform to General Plan

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Wayne County code is at https://waynecountyutah.gov/pages/planning-and-zoning. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Wayne County planning before you rely on it.
As required by the Act, no publicly-owned road, street, way, place, space, building, structure, or facility, and no public utility line, infrastructure, or facility, whether publicly or privately owned, may be constructed unless: 1) It conforms to the County’s General Plan, including consistency with the accompanying map(s), or; 2) It has been considered by the Commission and, after receiving the recommendation of the Commission, has been approved by the BOCC as an amendment to the County’s General Plan. 3) Received necessary Land Use Application approval by the Land Use Authority, as applicable.
