Wayne County zoning code

Zoning 1903 Building Permit Required

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Wayne County code is at https://waynecountyutah.gov/pages/planning-and-zoning. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Wayne County planning before you rely on it.
1) In compliance with the Building Code, as adopted, and as applicable, no sign shall be erected, moved, reconstructed, enlarged, or structurally altered unless a valid Building Permit application has been approved by the Building Official, as applicable. 2) The requirement for a Building Permit shall apply to all new signs and existing signs that are proposed to be erected, moved, reconstructed, enlarged, or structurally altered, unless allowed as a Limited Sign. 3) The Building Official, or designee, shall inspect, or re-inspect, any sign for which a Building Permit has been issued and for which an inspection is required. Such inspections shall ensure that all signs are in conformance with this Ordinance and Building Code, as adopted. 4) The expiration date for all Building Permits required for signs shall be as provided by the Building Code, as adopted.
