The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Town Council, shall appoint the members at the beginning of the calendar year for a term of five (5) years, provided that the term of one (1) member shall expire each year. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term of any member whose term becomes vacant. No more than two (2) alternate members may sit at any meeting of the Board of Adjustment at one time.
The Mayor with the advice and consent of the Town Council may remove any member of the Board of Adjustment for cause if written charges of nonattendance of three duly called meetings of the board or if non- performance are filed against the member with the Mayor. The Mayor shall provide the member with a public hearing if he/she requests one.
