23.080 Prohibited Signs

The following signs are prohibited:
A. Flashing signs, which include motion of any part by mechanical means or any type of blinking, strobe, or intermittent chaser lights, whether attached to a sign or not, except approved electronic display signs;
B. graffiti;
C. mirrors;
D. portable and A-frame signs, except as specifically allowed as a temporary sign;
E. paper, cloth or plastic streamers and bunting except holiday decorations and as specifically allowed as a temporary sign or listed as an exempt sign;
F. roof-mounted signs, except Vintage Roof Signs allowed by this Chapter;
G. snipe signs or posters otherwise affixed on the walls of a building, tree, pole, fence or other structure;
H. sound-emitting signs, except menu boards at drive-in restaurants, automated bank tellers and drivethrough commercial facilities;
I. spotlights directed into the night sky except as part of an approved special promotional period for a temporary sign; and
J. replica signs imitating in size, color, lettering, or design any public safety sign or device.
