Tooele County zoning code

32-1-1 Purpose

Unofficial copy. It may be out of date. Not legal or zoning advice. Zoning rules change, and only the city or county can say for sure what is allowed on a property. Confirm with the city or county planning department before you buy, sign or build. The official Tooele County code is at https://www.tooeleco.gov/departments/development/land_use_ordinance.php. Text pulled 2026-10-19 from this source. Chapter 19 is a scanned image on the county's site and is not included. Tables (like use tables) may not copy cleanly, so check any table against the official code. Confirm anything here with Tooele County planning before you rely on it.
The purpose of the Energy Development Zone Overlay (EDZO) is to: (1) Encourage the development of energy resources. (2) Provide appropriate zones for utility-scale and community-scale energy facilities. (3) Protect Tooele County’s public health, safety, and welfare while ensuring energy infrastructure aligns with Utah Code and federal standards. (4) Support the State of Utah’s energy objectives per Utah Code Title 79, Chapter 6, which encourages diversified, responsible energy development. (Ord. 2025-16, 10/21/25) Section 32-2-1. 32-2-2. Conditional Uses (Planning Commission Review). Prohibited Uses.
